Jasper City Schools is a highly rated public school district located in Jasper, AL. It has five schools within its district.  Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement coursework and exams. The AP participation rate at Jasper High School is 10%. Jasper High School provides an opportunity for qualified high school students to enhance their education by enrolling early in college courses through Bevill State Community College.  Jasper Career Tech Education program, CTE currently offers 16 pathways for students to participate in and has expanded into more students going into dual enrollment.  The CTE program helps students develop practical skills that will be valuable in the workforce, such as problem-solving and teamwork.

The Walker County School district is a public school district that educates over 7,000 students, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Walker County Center of Technology

The Walker County Center of Technology (WCCT) provides high school students with access to technical training programs including business, drafting, electrical, precision machining, welding technology and industrial maintenance. Students can earn NCCER certification in welding and electrical technology as well as NIMS certification in machining. Students can also receive dual enrollment credit with Bevill State Community College. The Walker County Center of Technology serves students in grades 10-12

Sumiton Christian School is a private K-12 Christian school located in Sumiton, Alabama. Sumiton Christian students from various backgrounds benefit from a challenging Christ-centered academic program. Sumiton Christian is a member of the Alabama Independent School Assocation (AISA) and competes in high school athletics with the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA). The CHOOSE Act

The CHOOSE Act, signed into law by Gov. Kay Ivey on March 7, 2024, makes refundable income tax credits called education savings accounts (ESAs), available to support the success of every K-12 student in Alabama,. The law requires the Alabama Department of Revenue to establish a framework and funding for ESAs, which may be used by eligible families to cover tuition, fees and other qualified education expenses at approved education service providers (ESPs) in Alabama.

ESAs in the amounts below will be available beginning withe 2025-2026 Academic Year:

  • Up to $7,000 per participating student enrolled in a participating school.

  • Up to $2,000 per participating student not enrolled in a participating school (e.g. students that participate in individual or group homeschool programs or co-ops, non-participating schools, or other similar programs); capped at $4,000
